What is Mend by Tend?

Mend by Tend allows you and your child to access a specialist from home, school, or on the go. Our industry leading physicians visit with you via live video to discuss any non-emergency medical conditions. We are passionate about eliminating current barriers and disparities that exist in accessing specialized care, whether it be transportation, expenses, or work days missed.

Is Mend by Tend appropriate for every medical condition?

No. Mend by Tend physicians are only meant to discuss non-emergency medical conditions. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, dial 911 immediately. You should not use Mend by Tend in the case of a medical emergency.

Is my information safe and secure using Mend by Tend?

Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. Mend by Tend utilizes state-of-the-art security and encryption protocols, making it safe, secure and completely HIPAA compliant.

Does my insurance cover telemedicine?

It depends. Coverage varies state-by-state. Some states have parity laws that require insurance companies to reimburse at the same rate as in-person visits. Go to the ATA website to learn more. Inquire with the Mend by Tend team at hello@mendxtend.com to see if your health insurance covers your virtual visit.

Do I need to set up an account to access Mend by Tend?

You do not need to create an account or login to meet with your doctor. An Mend by Tend Team Member will provide you with your specialists unique waiting room link prior to your consult. Simply press the link and type your name into the specialists waiting room.

What will I need to setup my Mend by Tend virtual consult?

No downloads, special hardware or software are necessary for your virtual visit.

Where can I access Mend by Tend?

Mend by Tend is accessible anywhere. Connect face to face using your phone, tablet or computer using the Mend by Tend app or the Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox web browser.

Do I need to pay anything to become a Mend by Tend physician?

Nope! Mend by Tend services are completely free for physicians. We want to make sure this services truly benefits you and your patients, so we offer our platform and other services free of charge to Mend by Tend physicians.

Who pays for Mend by Tend consultations?

Mend by Tend consultations are reimbursable by insurance companies but often patients pay out of pocket for services. The Mend by Tend team works with every patient to determine if their insurer supports telemedicine services, and all the necessary requirements.

Who determines Mend x Tend reimbursement schedules?

You! Mend by Tend gives each physician the complete flexibility to determine their own out-of-pocket reimbursement schedule. We help guide you by providing some examples of what other practitioners are charging, but ultimately you decide what you charge

Does Mend by Tend set my schedule?

Nope! Everything you do with Mend by Tend will be customized completely for your needs. Whether you want your telemedicine consultations in the evening, morning, on-demand, or on weekends, you have the complete flexibility to determine exactly when, and for how long, you want your consultations to be.

If I join the Mend by Tend team, am I considered a full time employee?

No. Depending on how you structure our relationship with Mend by Tend, you will be a 1099 employee.

Can I connect with new patients using Mend by Tend?

Yes! We constantly have patients from around the world contacting us to connect with industry leading physicians. If you want to conduct consultations with patients outside your network, whenever we have a patient looking for a doctor in your specialty, you’ll be provided the opportunity!
